1st dentist visit for kids

How do you get your kids started on a lifetime of good oral health?

It is so important to get your kids started early on good oral health habits so that these can develop into a lifetime of good care.  Children typically come to their first dental appointment between the age of 2 and 3.  However, it is crucial to have a positive first experience at the dentist so children should NOT wait until they have a painful tooth or problem before coming to their first visit.  Actually, it's a great idea tobring kids to the dentis for the first time when their parents or older siblings are getting a cleaning.  In this way, the child can see what happens at the office and he or she can get to know the dentist.  Dr. Voros is very patient and makes sure that kids have a great experience.  There are toys in the waiting room and before the visit, Dr. Voros often takes kids out on the balcony to feed the ducks and geese.  She involves the child in the exam and rewards their good behavior with a fun new toothbrush and other small prizes.
